“Been there, done that.” Nancy Heisel is not just an experienced and successful realtor. She also knows what it means to relocate. As an Army wife for 15 years, she has made her share of moves and understands the transient nature of regions like the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

With familiarity in overseas living, multiple moves, rapid deployment, and diverse economic as well as cultural conditions, she also knows the stress and emotion of leaving as well as the anticipation of moving into a home.

“Buying or selling a home is one of the most important financial decisions of a lifetime,” she states. “It’s also a uniquely personal experience.

“If you’re a Seller, I understand this is your HOME, not just an investment you’re selling. You want it sold for a fair price in a timely manner.

“If you’re a Buyer you want a good deal, a good neighborhood, and a great home for you and your family. I understand how personal it is and how important these factors are, especially in the current economy.”

Personal insights like these mean that you have someone who will look out for you, someone who takes the time to look at the little details so her clients are given no surprises when a property closes. She doesn’t stop there either, making sure all their needs are met even after the sale.

Licensed in both Virginia and Maryland, Nancy is a Graduate of the Real Estate Institute. She is also a relocation expert and an Accredited Listing Agent. With a Green designation from the National Association of Realtors, she also understands the properties of a green (environmentally friendly) home and living practices.

When asked what her greatest joy is as a realtor, Nancy said, “Hearing ‘Thank you!’ from my client for the job I’ve done for them.”

Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, she earned a BS degree from the University of Missouri in Dietetics. Prior to entering into Real Estate, Nancy worked in the medical world both in dietetics management and medical equipment sales.

Nancy is also mom to two beautiful, teenage daughters and a loveable 6 year old Golden Retriever. “I am an avid runner,” she says. She even ran in the Prague marathon!

“I enjoy going to the gym with my girls. I also love to travel – Australia is currently on my short list – attending the theater and going to art venues.”

Sebastian Rivera, of the Potomac Mortgage Group, introduced Nancy to Tom Ivey and Tysons Auto Specialties two years ago and she has been a customer ever since. As Nancy says, “Tom is someone you can trust. He’s proactive in letting me know what things I need to do to keep my vehicle running in top shape.”

What’s the most important thought she wants to communicate to anyone buying or selling real estate? “The process can be tedious and frustrating,” she remarked, “but the end result is always worth it. Maintain as much patience as possible and things will go smoother.”
