In recent months, the Tysons Auto website and Newsletter have both taken major steps to improve quality and distribution. We are excited about the future so this seemed like a good time to take a moment and talk about our past.
The Tysons Auto Specialties newsletter has been around for several years. However, in 2008 Tom Ivey wanted to take his newsletter to the next level and use this monthly publication to thank his loyal customers who were also trying to establish businesses of their own.
He talked with a local writer, Randy Sly of WriteView Communications LLC, about taking over the newsletter, upgrading the content and adding a special spotlight section to highlight the work and worth of men and women who were making a difference in the business climate of the area.
These articles not only put the marketing spotlight on these business professionals but positively impacted their search engine rankings as well, making their online presence more visible to people in search of their services. Businesses can pay a lot of money to achieve the kind of visibility that our interviewees receive free-of-charge through these spotlight articles.
Not too long after the spotlight article premiered, another section, entitled “Did You Know,” was added. Each month, this area highlighted various events and opportunities available in the Commonwealth, provided road travel advice, or offered resources to make driving in Virginia a more pleasurable experience.
In addition to these unique sections, the Tysons newsletter always included a practical tip for vehicle maintenance we now call “Tom’s Auto Tip of the Month,” as well as a car service special available that month.
The Tysons Auto Newsletter is an original publication written each month; it is not one of those generic mailings where the business simply ads their name. We have often heard our readers say that they always look forward to receiving it. As one person told us at a recent BNI meeting, “I get a lot of newsletters and throw most of them away. This is the one I look forward to each month and read all the way through.”
We are committed to continuing to make our newsletter something that provides useful and important information for all of our readers. Each month we’ll continue to introduce you to the movers and shakers in the local business community, provide insights on interesting events and opportunities in our beautiful Commonwealth, while helping you with ways to keep your car running in tip-top shape.
